It was a real gamble to return into the lives of the people of Sarajevo many years after the war, and so many years after they had crossed my path for the first time.
Pushed between the fear of disappointment and the desire to retrace my own footsteps, I was aware that the task was not going to be easy. Friends and relatives had warned me: going to look for people that I had photographed twelve years previously would be an impossible mission…

The SIG has the pleasure to invite you to the inauguration of the exhibition Dance of Fate: Sarajevo, 12 years later.
Agostino Pacciani, photojournalist, visited between 1994 and 1995 Sarajevo, war theater. At the heart of this conflict, he made shots and interviews with the inhabitants of the besieged city.
His aim was to explore their physical and moral strength, to reflect on their lives, the hope and solidarity of men. 12 years later, he returned to Bosnia and found the people he met, and stole their image, without knowing who truly were.
This exhibition presents 52 photographs diptych.
To approach this reality not only visual, visitors are invited to plunge into the fascinating history of these people using headphones, and to listen their voice…
